About The People Practice
Chris Dunridge (BSc, MCIPD) Managing Director and Principal Consultant of the People Practice has more than 20 years’ experience in HR, ranging from front line positions to HR Director. Most recently she led the UK HR function at TAQA, a multi-national oil and gas operator.
She established The People Practice in 1995 and ran the highly successful independent HR consultancy for 13 years. In 2007, The People Practice was engaged as HR consultant to TAQA, an offshoot of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA) PSJA, to advise on the company’s HR activity during the acquisition of four North Sea installations from Shell and Esso. Chris created a united team spirit from the disparate corporate cultures across the various companies. She managed their concerns in a positive, supportive way and instigated the due diligence process, the TUPE transition, recruitment and retention of the additional workforce and established the structure and systems that a global class organisation required to employ and manage people.
Less than a year later, Chris was invited to join the company on a full time basis to lead the full scope of HR and employee relations to help establish and build TAQA’s presence in the UK.
Now, having seen TAQA grow to a company which now employs more than 500 staff and 2500 contractors both on and offshore, she has begun operating once more as The People Practice.
In addition to the oil and gas sector, she has worked across a full range of industries including retailing, international logistics, facilities management, construction, telecoms, pharmaceuticals, IT, market research and advertising.
